Managing Principal & Portfolio Manager

Dan, a Managing Principal & Portfolio Manager, is co-founder of T2 Asset Management where he is responsible for managing multiple investment models for advisors and high net worth individuals. His professional experience in portfolio management and trading gives Dan a unique perspective to structure strategic, fundamentally driven models with a focus on downside protection. Dan’s models are managed to maintain a disciplined approach to investing that allows for diversified exposure across asset classes and provide flexibility to make changes when market conditions warrant. Market behavior sometimes deviates from fundamentals, so it’s important to have the flexibility to make changes to reflect these short-term variances.

Prior to founding T2 Asset Management, Dan was a Vice President and Portfolio Specialist with Hartford Investment Management and later with Transamerica Investment Management, where he was responsible for communicating the Firm’s investment strategy and economic outlook to the financial community. He worked with the portfolio management team and communicated the investment process and specific product strategies to clients and prospects.  Dan spoke at numerous conferences and on panels regarding current economic conditions and their impact on the financial markets.

Prior to joining HIMCO, Dan was Vice President at Zurich Scudder Investments. As Vice President, he was a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager managing in excess of $1 billion in assets for endowments, foundations, pension plans, institutions, and high net worth individuals. In addition to his role as portfolio manager, Dan was a member of the Investment Policy Committee as the Taxable Fixed Income Strategist where he was responsible for establishing taxable fixed income allocations for Scudder’s Private Investment Counsel, which managed over $20 billion in client assets.

Before joining Scudder, Dan was a trader at Asset Allocation and Management where he traded structured assets for insurance portfolios that totaled in excess of $4 billion under management.

Dan received his MBA in Finance from DePaul University and holds a CFA charter. He is a member of the CFA Institute as well as the CFA Society of Chicago.

I provide comprehensive asset management to advisors and affluent families with a focus on fundamental, low-cost investment strategies that are used by large institutional investors. As a fiduciary, my responsibility is to serve in the best interest of my clients, and only my clients.

EXPERTISE: Less than 1% of all financial advisors hold a CFA charter. Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) are highly prized by institutional money managers as investment analysts and strategists. Working with a CFA charterholder brings those same institutional skills to individuals and families.

DISCIPLINE: We believe in the fundamental principles of strong diversification, low-cost investing, and the idea that markets are best navigated with the avoidance of large losses. Managing risk is at the center of what we do for clients in order to preserve gains and minimize losses.

INDEPENDENCE: As an independent investment advisor, we are not influenced by product sales or corporate ties. As a fiduciary, our responsibility is to serve in the best interest of our clients and only our clients.
